These vintage B-400 caboose lamps are becoming more and more scarce, especially when they're unused in the original box. This lamp is called a caboose lamp because it was used in the caboose of trains to provide light.

The bracket was designed to allow both vertical and horizontal movement of the lamp to absorb the rocking and swaying of the train car and to help absorb the force of sudden jolts. The lox-on chimney was developed so that the chimney on the caboose lamp would not work loose from the motion of train. While it may not have been very stylish, this caboose lamp was a marvel of ingenuity. This lamp new old stock. It is unused and in the original box. It was found in a cabinet in a warehouse in Cleveland, OH.

The box smells musty and is in bad shape, with some water damage and loose tape. The contents are dusty, but in good condition and in the original boxes. Please see the photos as they are part of the description and to assess the condition.
