Simply a fascinating and museum worthy item that no doubt witnessed the stock market crash of 1929. This historic corner street sign should be placed in a museum or a place of prominence. Sure to appeal to stock brokers, history buffs, and anyone else with a penchant for the unique. There are 2 anchor arms original to this sign which are included.

The anchor arms are mounted on the backside of the ornate center piece and attaches around the light post. Sign measurements are 22 L x 12 H and from the outer cast iron frame edge to center or corner 29 L and overall wrap-around length 58. The ONE-WAY sign is constructed of 1/16 heavy-duty steel and retains its original paint and original mounting hardware. Measures roughly 30 x 8. There are six openings for screws to adjust the mounting hardware.

From the late 1910s until the late 1940s, The city of New York manufactured and installed porcelain "HUMPBACK" street signs in four of the five boroughs; Staten Island, Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx. The signs were mounted inside a metal case that protected them from vandalism and damage, and showed both the main and cross streets of the intersection. This sign is a true survivor of American history. HISTORY OF WALL STREET: Wall Street is a 0.7-mile-long (1.1 km) street running eight blocks, roughly northwest to southeast, from Broadway to South Street on the East River in the Financial District of lower Manhattan, New York City.

Over time, the term has become a metonym for the financial markets of the United States as a whole, the American financial sector (even if financial firms are not physically located there), or signifying New York-based financial interests.
