Here is an antique trolley, streetcar, or bus fare counting or register box. It says, Electric Service Mfg Co Phila PA. It has number spaces and a side arm.

The front is fine with glass intact. The handle looks very clean. The silvery knob on the side wont move, but it jiggles a bit, and when it does you can see the big numbers juggling a bit; so it was probably used to reset the big numbers at the end of the day to zero. The box and seams are all tight and firm. This has an back plate attatched. The back is 8 1/4 tall by 5 1/4 wide. The sides and front are 5 3/8 wide.

I see no cracks or chips. It has a loose 10 c piece of paper floating around inside, that is not part of the meter but was put in there one day for some local reason. I had one other box just like this. The one on the right without a cord is for this listing.

I read a driver might have two on board, one to to count tickets and one to count cash fares.
