Handlan-Buck THE HANDLAN Railroad lantern with BURLINGTON ROUTE box logo

Available this week is this nice Handlan-Buck "THE HANDLAN" railroad lantern with the box logo of the BURLINGTON ROUTE CB&Q RR Co. Embossed in large letters on the rim of the lid. If you're a fan of the Burlington, you probably have noticed that a large percentage of Burlington Route lanterns managed to be assembled so that the handsome box logo was speared by either the hinge attachment or the lid release holder, thus defacing the logo. This one has its logo to the side!!

The frame sits straight on its base. There are no corrosion spots or holes of any kind. The fuel pot has no holes; might have a couple of small repairs in the bottom. Can't tell if it's solder or just tin from the manufacturing. The fount cup is solid.

Top and bottom are SMOOTH metal with some tin remaining. The frame shows very mild railroad use and is clean. All in all, this is a very nice frame. Not terribly uncommon, admittedly, but in great shape with an undamaged box logo on the lid, a BIG plus!
