Signal Box Instrument, Midland Railway Company, Super Condition

One of two similar instruments that I presently have available, is this superb antique signal box block instrument from the Midland Railway Company. It would originally have formed part of the system of similar instruments used by signalmen to maintain safety on the railways by allowing only one train on each'block' of line at any one time. This particular example is stamped twice to the top'MRCo'.

T he instrument stands 47cm high, is 17cm deep and 28cm wide. The Midland Railway Company was in operation from 1844 until 1931, later consolidating with others lines to become the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS). Please read the condition report.
